A Compilation of Facebook Posts, Musings, and Interviews (Photos by me)

Last week, on the corner of the intersection, stood a man with an "IMAGINE" sign.
It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning, and who sits on the corner of an intersection holding a sign with only one word on it?
Jim, that's who.
Recently, we've been interviewing and photographing strangers about God. Who is He? Who do we want Him to be? How do we come to know Him?
When we saw Jim, we quickly pulled over and grabbed our camera go to interview this special sign holding man. "What does your imagine sign mean?" was our obvious first question.
His answer? "What do you WANT it to mean?"
We talked a lot after that. About God and life and all the inbetween things we imagine a perfect world to be...but at the end we came to this:
"What do you imagine a good person to be?"
"Well," said Jim, "I'll go back to your definition of God. If you want a one word definition of God it would be love.
And if you want a one word definition of a good person it would be...love."

CODY
Cody was soaking in the sun when we walked up to him. I don't blame him, it was the first sunny day in Eugene for weeks. But we starting talking, about just that. Nature, traveling, and seeing God all throughout it.
He was a traveler type of guy. We asked him where in nature he feels God speaking to him most.
A pause.
He shared a few places.
We asked him why it was THERE that he felt God speak to him so clearly.
“I always try to stay connected with that, you know, that source of divinity. So I'm always asking for guidance and asking for, you know, like, show me the right direction, and this and that.
But most of the time, it's really simple. it's usually something that you already know, but just get a little confirmation.
You know, the Lord speaks in whispers. Because we, we are so all over the place. But if you focus on the quiet in your mind, when you ask, you shall receive.”
Quiet.
I think Cody's on to something.
In 1 Nephi 17:45 it says, "And he hath spoken unto you in a still small voice, but ye were past feeling, that ye could not feel his words"
Are we past feeling in our day to day lives? Do we wait for a perfect, quiet place to hear Him? or do we purposefully make quiet minutes within our busy hours?
After a while, we thanked him for his insights, waved goodbye, and headed on our way.
I turned around before we left his sight.
And there was Cody, sitting there, quietly listening. Not saying a word. Head turned, once again facing the sun.

KATHY
"I mean, he called me 'Miss America'...you know that was his pet term for me. We'd be entertaining and he'd say, "Now I want you to meet my Miss America."
We would sing and perform together for years. I still have people in the stake say, "Hi Miss America, how are you doing today?" That's just what he called me...
My husband and I dated every week. Every week we went on a date even when we had to go and share an ice cream cone - because that was all the money we had - we still went on a date together.
God was the other partner in our relationship. Praying together, asking for help together. You bring the Godhead in as your partners in your relationship, and in your home. You keep that love alive and be respectful, but at the end of the day you've got to have the gospel true and strong in your home."
Van and Kathy were married for 49 and a half years, had 4 sons and 12 grandkids, served a mission in Martin's Cove, and performed many songs together. While her husband Van may not be here physically anymore, Kathy finds comfort and peace in her deep testimony on eternal families.
